Direct to Site
Another way to promote your affiliate product is where you send a prospect directly to the product owner’s website.
Unlike education or review sites where you are pre-selling in this case there is no recommendation or referral from you.
You are buying traffic or getting traffic from other sources (such as banner or text ads), putting in your affiliate link and then sending prospects directly to the product owner’s website. You simply have to bank on the product owner’s site being good enough to make the sale for you.
If your advertising is excellent and the product owner’s website and sales letter are excellent then this method can work.
Especially if your advertising matches seamlessly…
Let’s say your banner advertising matches the product owner’s sales copy—then your prospects will be highly targeted. If you have a list you could send your list an email recommending you check out a certain product or service.
You can also use your email content to help presell. (However it depends on your reputation as to how much you can influence your list.)
Direct to site involves less effort than the methods mentioned previously, but may not be as effective.
And promoting affiliate products direct to the product owners site doesn’t give you the chance to capture any leads or build your own list.
