How to Build a Relationship with
Your List...

Like anything you do in life you always have a choice.

In Affiliate Marketing it is no different.  It is up to you whether you choose a short or long term approach to your affiliate promotion.

Short-term Method

The short-term approach focuses on monetizing your list as fast as humanly possible.  Essentially you squeeze as many sales out of your list, as early as you can.

With this approach you’re banking on having a compelling subject line and great email copy that leads straight to your affiliate offer.

There is no relationship with your list.  It is not customer focused.  And in our opinion it is lazy.
It is also very short sighted.

Much of the cost or effort in Affiliate Marketing is spent generating leads. To “burn” your leads like this can make you money, but not as much as you could with just a little extra thought and time.

Long-term Method

We recommend taking a long term approach and building a lasting relationship with your list so they get to know you and the products you’re promoting.

Focus on delivering quality content that benefits your prospects, even if they don’t buy from you.
If your mother or father were subscribed to your list would you be proud to send each email?  This is a yardstick

Mark uses to ensure he sends out only quality emails.

If you take the long term approach to building a relationship with your list, you will be rewarded with prospects who buy from you multiple times each year, up to three years later.

As a rule of thumb try to ensure that you send quality information out three out of every four emails. The fourth one you can make a promotional email recommending a product or service.
