Authority Site

The strategy of building an authority site is an extension of a review site.

The main difference being that you go into more detail about your niche in general and not the specific product you are promoting.

Depending on how you choose to position your product will determine how you choose to portray your niche.  It’s important you look at the bigger picture and identify who your target audience is and what type of content they are searching for.

There is no “set” way to build an authority site.  You could have a SEO site containing lots of content.  You could have a blog where you provide fresh content via articles being added on a regular basis.

It is up to you… But whatever you choose you either need an opt in box on every page on your site—with an incentive attracting prospects to sign up.

Or a banner that advertizes your “ethical bribe”.  This leads to a dedicated squeeze page to capture their name and email address in return for a free gift.

In this way you can build an extremely targeted list.  You attract only those people who are interested in your niche.

Once they are on your list you can further build a relationship.  And then start promoting affiliate products to them via an autoresponder.

On your authority site you can of course make regular recommendations and refer prospects to specific products that relate to specific pages of content.
